The scope of work to be carried out under the Global initiative on CEPA is a tremendous task.  For this reason, the Conference of the Parties, in Decision VI/19, urged the Secretariat and the Parties to work in partnership with a number of organizations in order to implement the Global Initiative on CEPA.

To this end, the Secretariat regularly convened meetings of the Group of Experts on Education and Public Awareness to discuss the current state of the initiative and to explore the opportunities for greater collaboration offered by the initiative.
