Assessing Progress Towards 2010
This information portal has been designed in response to
Decision VIII/14. It is meant to provide Parties with consolidated information resources and tools to assist with the preparation of the fourth national report, that will be used to measure progress towards the achievement of the
2010 Biodiversity Target, as well as contribute to the third edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook. This portal will also serve to promote the 2010 Biodiversity Target assessment among CBD partners.
The fourth national reports are due
30 March 2009. When preparing their fourth national report, Parties are requested to provide information while focussing on the following:
- outcomes and impacts of actions or measures taken to implement the Convention
- success stories and case-studies, if any
- major obstacles encountered in implementation
- actions that need to be taken to enhance implementation

A capacity-building workshop for South, East and Southeast Asia on the preparation of the fourth national report will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from
